Thomas Wedlick, Ph.D., P.E., has consulted for many Fortune 1000 companies on robotics, machine design, computer vision, failure analysis, solid mechanics, and safety. As a voting member of multiple national and international robot standard drafting committees, he helps direct, write, and interpret robotics safety standards. The scope of these committees include industrial robots, mobile robots, collaborative robots, and medical robots.
Dr. Wedlick has applied his expertise to help clients develop new robotic and mechatronic systems, and to resolve issues with current products. He has helped clients analyze novel and complex safety considerations associated with cutting-edge technology. In addition, Dr. Wedlick has analyzed automated systems, machine design, and safety in support of litigation. He has presented his work at many international conferences and is currently co-chair of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Industrial Advisory Board subcommittee on outreach and access to talent.
